Esperanza Jazz Bands place near the top of all high school jazz bands in the region. Esperanza has three high performing and entertaining bands, with all bands scoring and placing near the top in annual competitions and festivals. In 2009, Esperanza took four groups (two bands and two combos) to the prestigious Reno International Jazz Festival. Three groups, Jazz II, Combo I and Combo II placed in the top five of their division while both Jazz bands scored unanimous superior ratings. Jazz I competed against some of the toughest Jazz bands in the western states and placed in the top ten of their division. We will be returning to Reno in 2010.
